‘The Scottish Schools (Parental Involvement) Act’ 2006 provides a framework for ensuring that all members of the Parent Forum, which is comprised of all parents, carers or guardians of pupils currently attending Park Place Primary School, have the opportunity to express their views and have these taken into account on matters affecting their child’s education.
The Parent Council is the formal route of communication between the school and the Parent Forum. Our activities include meetings to discuss aspects of the school, organising social and fundraising events and encouraging parental involvement in the school.

Meetings of the Parent Council are held at least once per term and all members of the Parent Forum are welcome to attend. The minutes of the meetings are posted by the school door and also on this web site. These include the date and time of the next meeting. If you would like to raise an issue please let the chair know in advance so it can be added to the agenda. Similarly, if you have a query about the school, suggestions of things which should be done or you would like an issue to be raised at a meeting, please don’t hesitate to get in touch through the School Office. We discuss most aspects of the school but cannot discuss individual pupils or teachers.
We welcome new members of the Parent Council and call for volunteers to join the council at the beginning of each school year. If you feel you could make the commitment to come to the meetings and could contribute to the activities of the Parent Council please volunteer to join.
We also encourage parental involvement in the school. Parents and other family members or carers are invited to help with one-off activities such as helping with the Summer Fayre or Book Week activities (advertised by notices sent home to parents). Alternatively if you can make the time, you can help regularly in the class rooms doing paired reading or art and craft activities in Golden Time. Please contact the school office if you are interested in such volunteering.
